Events 2012

Regattas

Swan Lifeline will be patrolling the river again this year to help prevent injury to swans at the Walton and Weybridge Regatta (http://www.wandwregatta.org.uk) on Saturday 19 May and at the Henley Royal Regatta (http://www.hrr.co.uk) 27 June – 1 July.  We hope to have a stall at this year’s Hurley regatta (http://www.hurleyregatta.co.uk) on 18 August.

16–20 July (Swan Upping)

Swan Upping (http://www.royalswan.co.uk) will be taking place on the Thames between Sunbury and Abingdon, between 16 – 20 July. We are once again running a trip to follow the Swan Uppers. It will be Wednesday 18 July 2012. We anticipate leaving Hobbs Boatyard in Henley at 11am returning at 3pm. A summer buffet lunch will be provided and a cash bar will be available. Cost per person £42.50; if you wish to book please make out a cheque payable to Swan Lifeline and send to Kay Webb.

Olympics 2012

The Rowing events for the 2012 London Olympics (http://www.london2012.com) will be held at the Eton College rowing lake, Eton, Dorney from Saturday 28 July – Saturday 4 August.  Swan Lifeline will be taking swans off the course for the duration of the event. The swans we remove will be well looked after at our Cuckoo Weir Island HQ until they can be returned after the event has finished.

Supporter's Lunch

We are considering holding a lunch at The Compleat Angler Hotel, Marlow some time in late Autumn with a guest celebrity speaker.  Costs have not been finalised but would be in the region of £35 per head.  Please let Kay Webb know if you are interested in this as it may depend on the available support.
